LOL [sm=funnypostabove.gif]. Seriously though. Better to learn when you are younger as it hurts alot more when you are older. Gear can save you when experience fails you,use both and ride safe.

Good to hear he's ok! I also think it's really awesome that you're letting a 12 year old ride... I've wanted a bike since I was 11, but there was no way in hell my parents--even though one of them is a biker--would let me. I haven't had the means to persue one till recently, so it's 12 long years in the coming! I've been told repeatedly by other bikers that you will dump, it's only a matter of time. Everyone has to drop their bike at least once. It's like one of those universal truths. So it's good that he already got it out of the way, without too much damage.
I already got mine out of the way, but it was kinda bad, and I failed the course, so... retaking it all over again.[:'(]

Glad to hear he's okay. Hopefully he'll learn from this experience. Just remember you don't have to be going that fast to get hurt. My daughter flipped her 4 wheeler at a fairly low speed - she ended up with a fractured elbow and was stuck in a cast for half the summer.

Gear up and ride safe!
