Default Ultra Noob here

Ugh....embarrassing 1st post but here it goes. I just bought a 2002 ninja 250. I decided to try and clean it up a little. In doing so I used tire shine on the tires without even thinking about it. Does anyone know a good way to remove tire shine? I haven't ridden it yet afterwards but I'm sure it wasn't the smartest thing to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Find some gravel and/or county backroads with the tar and patch stuff laid down. Just be careful, you can just ride very conservatively.

Thanks for the quick reply Jeff. I'll give that a try tomorrow since i have some gravel roads at the end of my neighborhood.

Took it out into some gravel (carefully) and then used a rough sponge and some Comet on the tires. The combination on those things have pretty much taken off all the slickness the tire shine put on. Hopefully others can learn from my mistake...Thanks guys.

I still would be careful leaning it out on the edges for a little while.

Hey Kevin welcome to the site if I missed you before. Have fun and stay safe, take the MSF class if you can.
