WELL FIRST OFF I WANT TO SAY THANKS FOR THE PREVIOUS LINKS. Now after doing some reading i built up some confidence and decided to make an attempt in trying to set up the best i can before sending my shocks out to be revalved. now. the BIG hex nut on the triple. From what i read is that is the one that sets the preload (for my weight should be a hell of alot tighter) but its tight as hell already. i only have one groove showing ( my friends 06 636 stock has 3) i tried to tighten it but its not budging. what am i doing wrong? do i need to loosen it push on the bike then tighten it back up? wont that lower the bike?

this should be the only thing you adjust on the front forks.

No not that one. its the Big gold nut. on the right and left cylinder if you will you have the small flat head screw inside the rather large silver nut, under the silver nut you have the gold nut that is considerably bigger than the silver, that is the one I'm having trouble with http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...DSC00666-1.jpg

The "Big Gold Nut" is for removing the springs and changing fork oil.
