Default Ninja 300 gas mileage

I had a question with my brand new ninja 300s gas mileage. I read that the bike gets about 80+ mpg. My bike is brand new, 3 weeks old. I've put only about 89 miles on it and the gas gauge already reads half consumed. Does is have to do with the break in period running a little less efficient? Am I running the engine inefficiently? Just curious. Thanks

What I've always done with every bike I've owned is fill it up, reset the trip meter and when I fill again I keep a log of what distance I've gone and how much went in and rest the trip meter again. Depending where you're riding your consumption will vary. With my 600 I work on 18km/liter which is around 50mpg. Track day is around 10km/L which is 28mpg.

If the manufacturer says you get ??? miles per gallon, then cut it it half and that's reality. I'm exaggerating a bit, but the truth is don't kill yourself trying to figure out if there is something wrong.
