Exclamation Ninja 300

Hey all,

So I'm new to the riding world. Enjoying it. I'm looking to pick up the Ninja 300 within the next week or two. A buddy and I went shopping around to 3 dealerships and after a lot of hassle I walked away empty handed today. Wanted to get some good opinions on what I should do.

First dealership I went to said he would hook us up because we are buying two bikes (we're helping him, so he'd help us). Called another dealership and he said they have the lowest prices in town. The MSRP is $4,799.00. I've read around that people were getting the bike in some instances like $4,800.00 OTD, $5,100.00 OTD, $4,950.00 OTD. One dealership told me a green and black special edition and a white one BOTH for $5,699.00 OTD. Another dealership told me $4,595.00 but when he added everything it came to $5,720.32 OTD. Another dealer told me $5630.00 to beat the $5,699.00. And finally this evening I literally declined the dealer that said he would hook us up in the first place because they wanted, $6,262.62 for each bike OTD....I am already approved through Kawasaki so all I need to do is sign.

What pricing is reasonable? I thought I could go in there saying I don't want to pay more than lets say $5,100.00 OTD. But it seems none of the dealers agree unless I haven't tried enough. I read a bunch of low prices around and want to try for that. Also, I read that the "set-up fee" is bogus because its pure profit and I read that a dealer mark up is already included into MSRP. Does anyone else agree that I should be able to get a sick deal buying two at the same time? Please let me know so I can make a better decision. Thanks!

My friend proposed to the salesman that when they go to order more 300 inventory for the showroom, that they order 2 extra for us (that will obviously already be paid for) and then the bikes never have to touch the showroom floor hence giving us a really good deal. I dont know...

Welcome to KF

The ninja 300 is a brand new ride literally to hit the market, so I doubt the dealerships are going to haggle much if at all. Looks like you are pioneering the price watch at the moment. visit ninjette.org which is another forum that has alot of info and help with the ninjettes. Good luck

For those interested in the new-to-the-lineup 300, like I was...here's a link to a review:

There is no reason they would give you a deal because two bikes are being sold.

Set-up is not bogus.....Do you really think the bikes magically appear at the dealership ready to ride?.... they dont, and they have to pay someone to make them so.

Of course markup is included in MSRP.....that's what makes it a retail price.

Believe it or not dealerships really don't make much money on bikes.....its the accessories you get bent over on.

That being said......The 300 has some great reviews!
