Hi all! Posted this over in the zx6r forum, but figured I'd meet more folks if I put it here in the general section.
I am new to this forum. My first sportbike was an '89 Kawi ZX600C2. Brought that thing outta the grave, almost literally. Had to rewire it, new coils, new starter clutch and bearings, new Igniter, the list goes on. Got it super solid and strong, put 4500 miles on it the first season I got it last june. Sold it this year and found me a newer bike, 2003 Kawasaki ZX6R 636B1.
Has a full Micron high rise exhaust, Corsa on the rear, BMC race filter (yeah I keep it clean, clean and re-oil every other tank of gas). No PC yet, but that is coming I hope in a couple more weeks.
Got it with just over 10k on it, 3rd owner. 2nd owner had it for a year and put 343 miles on it. I have since put almost 1500 miles on it over the past 4 weeks, lol! Really love this bike. As expected, it's handling is a phenomenal change over that '89. Hell this bike even outweighs the '89 by over 40lbs!!! Nimble as $h!t tho! Power is almost double, really love it.
Not new to motorcycles. Raced MX for 9 years back in '87-'96 when 2-strokes were still kings, ran expert class for my last 4 years. Streetbikes aren't too new, though this is my 2nd sportbike, it's my 3rd street bike overall. Have approximately 6yrs and counting experience wise on street bikes. Great mechanic and decent trouble shooter....but damn I hate FI, can't work on it, lol!!! Seems reliable enough tho.
Anyhow, here is a pic of my ride! Would love to hook up with anyone in the CO area for some riding and fun!
