Default new bike

Hey guys just bought my second bike. I use to have a katana 600 but got rid of it few months ago so I got this 250 to cruise around on. Couple questions I have...what kind of 250 is this 250r? are can you tell by just looking at one? Also what would be the first mod you would do to a bike like this? something small like exaust, intake, frame sliders

Welcome to KF.

Are you asking on what year your 250 is?

I always suggest that the suspension/ride be set up for its rider before any other mods get done.

Enjoy your ride.

That would be the Ninja EX250-F model. Lately most of the online sites for gear and new riders keep referring to it as a 250r. Sorry, but it's not. They didn't label it as a Ninja 250r until the 08 model which is a completely new bike only using like 30% of the old model's engine components. Everything else is 100% different between the 89-07 and the 08/09 models.

There's tons of mods you can do to it. Yoshimiru full exhaust turning it into a 2-into-1 setup, with that you'll want to add a dynojet carburetor jet kit. There's also flush mounted signals for the front, integrated signals for the rear (uses the two little squares on the back lights), rear fender eliminator, taller windscreens, perelli sport demon tires (supposed to be the best tires you can get for the 89-07 model 250), even different seats (I'm looking at the corbin seat myself). You can change sprockets, some have also used different springs in the rear (haven't hear of anything for the front forks yet). You could make a serious looker and reputable street machine out of them tbh.

Just start small with things you can afford and are easy to do yourself. If at any time you are unsure in the slightest of how to properly put a mod on then get a professional to help or do it for you. If in doubt, get help, never try to half *** it yourself.
