Need help guys...Insurance BS
I have more posts on this forum but can't login so I just re-registered.
Anyway, here's the deal, I'm dealing with an insurance company that doesn't have a bike adjuster. They want this company from out of state to pay me 1500 for my salvaged bike. They won't pay me for over a month after they come get the bike and bring it back to their state.
I was hoping I could post up some pictures of my 636 and get some ideas from you experts on what it's worth. Should I try and sell it myself or give it up for $1500 bucks?
Before you look at the pics, let me tell you about the bike.
It's a 2003 ZX-6R, it LESS than 3000 miles on it, was in absolutely mint condition, never ridden hard AT ALL and still stock everything except an undertail kit.
It was hit by a car sideways and the bike lowsided and went down gently. The damage to the tank is because it slid into the corner of a stone wall. As far as I can see, it needs a new tank, new front end, new right side plastics, rearsets, ignition, and a few other things like that. The Frame has NO scratches, dings or dents and seems to be in perfect condition. The engine is has 3k on it and is in perfect condition as far as I can tell.
So here are some pics. What should I do? Take the $1500 and wait over a month for the check or try and sell locally? What do you think it's worth? Keep in mind it has 3000k miles on it.
Thanks so much for any help!

RE: Need help guys...Insurance BS
It's the insurance company's job to try and low-ball you on your payout. They will ALWAYS offer you way less than what you really deserve the first time around. You must fight them on getting a fair payout.

Call them and demand proper service. Just like said above there job is to f-you if you will let them.
If nothing else tell them to fix it, it does not look totaled to me. Who wrote up the report that is telling the insurance company the bike is totaled?
Sh%t if it was mine I would fix it and do may best to have my insurance company or the at fault's insurance to fix it.
If you let them screw you, they will! and laugh about it. Give them hell bro.

RE: Need help guys...Insurance BS
let me clarify a bit. My lawyer has already gotten me a good value on the bike and negotiated with the insurance company. It's different because this government insurance company does not have in house motorcycle stuff so they outsource. We agreed on 6000k for the bike. They wrote me a check for 4500 and I'm supposed to get the other 1500 from the company that purchases the salvaged bike. The reason I'm not just taking the 1500 is because it could be a month or so before I get the check. I have the option of reclaiming the bike and selling it myself.
So my question is do you think I could get more than 1500 for this bike in a reasonable amount of time.
Thanks again for the responses.

Reclaim it and fix it for the 4500

And yours does not look like 4500 for sure. Hell you probably just made 1500-2500. Just think of the mods you can add for that.
Lucky you!
