fuel bowl level, help!

Default fuel bowl level, help!

hey, does anyone know how critical the fuel bowl float adjustment is? i checked mine and it was set 4 mm too high will this make a two stroke smoke like crazy? 1999 kx250 stock carb

4mm is a good amount of measure. What ride or carb are you referring to?

it's decently critical.. about as important as a proper sync on the carbs..

smoke on a two stroke tho.. usually oil.. fuel doesn't really smoke.. check the reeds and compression, or oil injection if equipped.

yes my oil is in the fuel/carb 1999 kx250

Set the float strickly to what the shop manual says. 4 mm will probably adversely affect your performance.

4mm too high will make the A/F ratio noticeably too rich. That may make the bike a little sluggish, will encourage extra smoke, and hammer the fuel consumption. Setting it too low will make it too lean, possibly enough to lead to seizure or a holed piston.

yeah. for sure, i reset the float level picked-up the slide a notch, put in a hotrod crank and connecting rod, wiseco piston and rings..... fatty pipe and fmf silencer,, hinson clutch basket and hub some new plates ... brakes etc...etc...etc...forks...etc...etc cable...etc...painted frame...acerbis...etc...sprocket...etc.
holy cow did i do alot of work!!! my girlfriend helped too... she's hotter than the bike... hey guess what ???? what i have a brand new 10yr old motocrosser.... she's a screamin kx250 rode it today for a couple hours ran out of gas... THANKS PEOPLE FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT!!! Rob
