Default flooded GPZ

So I went for a ride today with one of my buddies and I own a 1984 GPZ. Just cleaned the carbs a few days earlier due to a sticky float and it would drip gas on my garage floor. So like I said I cleaned them and today decided to take a ride. We get about 3 miles from the house to the nearest country road come around the last curve where theres nothing but straight road for a few miles, just shift into 3rd gear and i opened her up and it just starts popping out the exhaust and dying out. I look into my mirror and see nothing but smoke for a quarter mile. I was so mad I thought I blew it up for a split second. I pull over and come to find out my float was stuck wide open and pouring fuel into the airbox. I had to call a friend have him bring me tools and sit there working on my bike in some strangers driveway who wasnt even home. What a wonderful ride I had today. Just thought someone might want to hear my story since we have nothin better to do lol.
