Lightbulb Are electric bikes the future?

Seeing these companies like Alta come out with their motocross bikes that match with gas bikes is interesting to me.. Not only on dirt, but street as well.. Will they do away with gas bikes the same that 4 strokes "did away" with 2 strokes?

Not until you can charge a battery in 10 minutes or less and have a 300 - 400 km range. (street bikes)

I agree, though it seems like we are close to having the battery technology be good enough to be used for commuting purposes. But I think most people don't buy bikes just to be used for commuting.
