Keep in mind, when you have a hole in a tire, you lose the speed rating of that tire. Now, if you are riding and the pressure drops , tire heats up, could blow out. THe hole could also enlarge/tear causing blowout condition. I've ridden unsafe many a times, lol, but the only thing holding the bike off the ground is the tire. I wouldn't ride it, until replaced.

 

yeah, I would postpone that 2000 mile trip on the bike and definitely stay away from triple digits on the speedo until the new tire is mounted.
