Default clutch baskets

hi. i'm new to the site and a new owner of a kx 250. The bike is old for one thing. my question is, I have a 1987 kx250, I installed clutch two piece cover off an 88 model, but the basket needs to be replaced. I was told to file it and it would be fine which I did. I don't really trust it. Will a hinson basket for a 92-05 model year work? It seems that those are the only year the aftermarket offers. I don't want to spend $200 for a factory unit. Any ideas would be great.I may have other questions later but this is it for now. Thanks

NP man!! lol

Some of the older bikes, including most I have owned, are hard to get parts for. The aftermarket just does not keep up....

www.bikebandit.com
www.oldbikebarn.com
www.ronayers.com

Those guys can get just about anything for your bike, but it is going to be pricey. Maybe keep an eye on Ebay. Sometimes, especially if you have a friend, that works in the parts dept at the stealership, they carry some aftermarket stuff at some decent pricing. An old yami enduro I had, I picked up a .10 over piston, rings, gaskets, for $40.00 ..... Worth a try anyway.
