Default Can I put a different stator in my bike

I have a 1973 Kawasaki f7 and it has so spark and I tested the resistance for the coils on the stator and they’re all good except I don’t even get a reading for the exciter coil. I have another stator that doesn’t work because the resistance on the exciter coil is too low. I was thinking about rewinding it but it seems like there’s a lot more to rewinding stators and that would mean a lot more things to mess up. I was thinking If I got a different stator off of something else that is around the same size that would fit in the bike and that isn’t so hard and expensive to find would it work? I’m not worried about keeping it stock. I don’t know anything about all of this stuff.
