Default Boot help

So I got some money for xmas so that I could get myself some boots and I have been torn between 2 different ones. Alpinestars S-MX 5 and Alpinestars S-MX Plus. I'm leaning towards the Pluses to be on the cautionary side but I'm worried that I will end up paying more for very little to no additional protection. I was wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions because I'd rather not spend the extra 60 or so dollars if it won't amount to anything, especially when I can put it towards some proper riding pants.

The most important thing about the boots your looking at is ankle protection. I picked up a used pair of Pluses on e-bay for 70.00. MY g/f found a pair of Super Techs brand new in box for 60.00! They go for 349.00! Also www.sportbiketrackgear.com has some great deals right now.

yeah, the site I use has prices about the same and they give you money towards your next purchase for every so many dollars you spend. I just keep thinking myself into circles because I'll tell myself to get the more expensive ones because they've got to be a lot better but then I think about the price and wonder if its that much better which leads me back to expensive ones when I start thinking I'd rather err on the side of safety. Because of that I haven't been able to decide

decided to go with the Alpinestars S-MX R Boots since i was originally looking at them just without the vents since they were out of my size with vents.
