I dont think it matters about the size.. My first bike is my 03 zx6r, which I have only had for two weeks now.. I do however ride a motocross bike.. I think that if I would of bought the bike 15 years ago it would of killed me by now.. I figure it took me this long to learn to respect the bike and what it is capable of.. Now that Im 35 Im not in a big hurry to see what it can do and just want to enjoy the ride.. Dont get me wrong, I do get on it and play but I also try to stay within my limits.. Safe riding.. Chris..

I totaly agree... as stated in my earlier post.... I always wanted to ride since I can remember, but grew up poor so the only thing I had was a baseball card in the spokes. Then when I was eighteen I was bit by the bug again.... good thing I had no money to afford a new bike (never wanted used)or I would not be here, now that I'm 30 well 29 when I got it I feel alot more mature and unwilling to race it like I would ten years ago.

I started on my 2006 zx-6r. What do you all think about the 2007 zx10r black with the ghost flames?

I started on my Dads 1995 Ninja 250, and now have my own Ninja 250. I like the bike a lot. Yea, it could use more power, but it's still faster than most cars I deal with on the streets. I'm glad I didn't start with something bigger. I'd be too afraid to ride it for fear of dropping it and doing more damage than a 250 is worth!

As a total newbie, I'm starting out with the 250. I have some hearing problems (though not 'impaired' by legal standards) that affect my sense of balance, and after going to some stealerships, taking the course the first time around, and straddling any bike that someone will let me, it's what I feel most comfortable with, starting out at least. I have a couple of friends pushing me to get on a faster/heavier bike... <shudder> I'm a 'bikeling' right now, jeez. Wish me luck!

I started on a 1972 dt80 yamaha when I was 4 years old. I started my wife (ex-wife now) on a brand spanking new 06 ninja 650r. I taught her to ride a honda 300ex quad 1st. That got her used to shifting, she does great on the ninja. Being new it didn't have much power... as her skill level grows so does the bikes power as it is breaking in. Worked out very well and she loves the bike.
