Default Beginner Bikes

There have been a lot of posts recently about this. I've been thinking about it lately and I don't really know anymore.

So what do you think???? What did you start on?

Depending on the person's maturity level, common sense and self restraint, maybe they could start on any bike. I dunno.......

I started on a 500.

Definately the 250, it may be a little underpowered for some, but it's a great bike to learn on. P.S. I think the clutch is practically bulletproof, My fiance had never even driven a manual transmission on a car before she started riding and probably stalled the bike 183 times before getting the hang of it! She rides pretty well now.

if you are refering to the katana, then i agree with ya.

I started on the 636. And it's fine, of course, I am mature and level headed...[8D]

I agree with BB. Its all what ya got between your head and of course a little general knowlage of how the machine works. I started on the zx10r, but I'm 29 and a little more mature then when I was 18 and wanted one. I'm sure if I was to have gotten one then I would prolly not be here today..This is a hard and debatable subject, that I read in a few other boards... witch turned real ugly real quick.... not saying it is going to happen here, cause the people in here have a little more respect for each other.
