1998 Vulcan 1500 E Speedometer Question

1998 Vulcan 1500 E Speedometer Question
I have a 98 1500E. One of the little screws the holds the speedometer pointer inside the gauge has come loose and is free floating around the inside of my speedometer. I removed the speedometer from the bike but can't find a way to remove the glass so I can put the screw back in. Anyone have any ideas what the trick is?
