I've got a KBC VR-2 , a Shoei X eleven and a Shoei RF-1000 , the shoei's are hands down quieter and more comfortable .The KBC is a very good helmet but it is noisierthan the shoei's, even tho the shoei'sflow more air keeping my noggin cooler in the hot weather .Forunately I have not had the need to try out how well they'll hold up in a crash .

Had a new exo 700 for a few weeks and it is great. Cool, quiet, much better than the old HJC was. Definitely recommend.

Yeah, and I really like the new Scorpion Exo-700 Burst helmets. Awesome-looking, and this one will very likely be what I buy:

Same here. have an EXO-700. Great fit,and comfortable. The only thing I don't like about it is the weight. It's one of the heavier helmets out there. More weight=bad for an accident. My next helmet will likely be the Shoei RF-1000. Very lite.

Don't know about "safest" but I'm using the Scopion 400 with a photochromic shield. Awesome value for dollar. I've had Bell, Shoei, Vega. I like the Scorpion the best. FWIW.

dieselmech was right on the Z1R. I've got a link to a side-by-side comparison and testing to many different helmet brands. It's a long read, but there's alot of information in there.

You may all have read it, as the article is kinda old but the information still applies. Check it out.

The fox v3 is sweet. Looking for a new mx helmet again. As soon as my icon is junk time to move up with the big boys and rock the shoei.
