Default Throttle Sticking, Where Do I Lube?

I Have an 2002 ZX6R, got it about 1 month ago. I didnt realize it at first but now I seem to realize that my throttle is not returning to the forward position after I release it. I was told by a friend that I should lube up some cables. The thing is I dont know where exactly to lube and what to use. If anyone could help, I would gladly appreciate it.. Thanks And Safe Riding To All..

If it's the cables ,you need to open the throttle housing, remove the cables from the housing and use a cable luber..

Detach one end of cable. Insert cable and housing into rubber sheath. With cable extending from Luber push housing forward until snug. Turn both screws together slowly to seat clamp uniformly around cable and housing. Then, alternate each screw 1/8 turn to tighten clamp securely and minimize leakage. Insert snorkel tube from Cable Life aerosol can into opening on front of Luber and spray for a minimum of 5 seconds.

Make sure you use lube sepcifically designed for motorcycle cables. If not you could swell the inner sheath and make it worse.

If you don't have a cable luber, use the spray nozzle straw and put it next to the cable & housing like you're trying to stick it in there, wrap a paper towel or rag and squeze it tightly then spray inside the cable housing. That's what I do and it works. For cable lube, you can use Dri-Slide available at auto partsor bicycle store. They might even have a cable luber at the bicycle store.

Two good suggestions listed. I had the issue after installing new grips.
