Default KE100 12 volt conversion help

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and am in need of some help. My 2001 KE100's charging coil is out of ohm tolerance per the service manual. I attempted to rewind the 3 pole stator to no avail. I also reached out to a company in New Hampshire that rewinds coils. They said they have never rewound a KE100 stator. It's listed on their website; but have never attempted one and are not interested in doing so. I watched Kevin Bergeron's videos on how to convert from 6 volt to 12 volt. Very informative videos. I have everything worked out except on how to wire the charging coil. Kevin suggested using a charging coil from a Yamaha moto-4. Part # 55X-81313-MO-00. This coil has 2 yellow wires, 1 green wire and 1 bare wire. There are zero ohms across the 2 yellow wires; but there is continuity across the green wire and the yellow wire on the opposite side of the coil. I texted the guy who made the video; but he told me to watch the video. The coil he uses is not the same one he's recommending. Has anyone out there completed this modification?
