looking for a starter,any leads?..how do you check old one?..

 

I am curious on any voltage drops across your push button.

 

yes..the start button is dropping voltage,as the lights dim and i can see the voltage meter also...the starter motor sometimes sounds as if its trying very faintly...but only once in a while..the voltage is good to the silenoid and i have checked all connections and wiring??????...thaks for the reply..i'm baffled...carl

 

so, have you ohmed out the starter switch?
