Hey all.... one other thing I want to ask.. What is the key switch supposed to do when turned all the way to the right in the Parking position? Cause this one does nothing-like that when I got the bike. Though I don't think theres a relation to my problem.

It just turns on the lights so people can see you when your parked, I never use it.

I just began the metering process. The ign switch and starter switch appear ok. I got to the starter relay and it looked to have gotten hot on the relay to starter side. I had 12+ volts on the lead in. Then I but put meter lead on the terminal that leads to starter (assuming there should be 12+VDC going to the starter, and nothing). Its making noise and acting like a relay when I hit start button. I'm guessing its fried (Fuse hasn't blown).
Since this is set up alot like an old ford, can you jump across the relay terminals to see if the starter will crank? (without hurting anything). Lastly, I'm still leery about the ignition switch i.e: does it carry 12V through it on the way to the relay?

I did try to run straight volts to the starter and nothing. So I pulled the starter and tried it on another battery and it worked fine. Soooo, taking the battery to dealer to get an official load test done. Would be crazy if its battery after all this. But it definintely would be a spontaneous battery death. Will update.

Well, its a mystery to me, but,,, bought a new battery and whoom! I've never seen a battery spontaneously die. But I'm not asking questions.....time to ride!! Thanks for all the input--now I have another post to make...
