Cool New to the forums and new project. All tips welcome!

I am new to the forums and currently working on my 2006 KLX, this thread gave me inspiration to give my bike a new makeover...

I ordered the TR250, the 1 lb 0.5 oz size, labeled Dupli-Color Truck Bed Coating like BillMoore used and should be getting it this week sometime. I also ordered a Big Bore 351 from Bill Blue and hoping to get that this Wednesday or Thursday. If all goes as planned after the makeover and bore kit installed it's going to feel like completely new bike! I will post more pics soon.

Default Getting there..

I didn't realize how thick the bed coating was, spent way to much time sanding all the scratches with wet sandpaper and scotch-bright. Suff goes on thick! Going to put two more coats on and start putting plastic back on the frame. looking good though! I painted the seat with some Dupli-Color HVP106 Flat Black High Performance Vinyl and Fabric Spray and it looks and feels like it was made that way, not sure on how it will hold up when I sit and ride on it though...if it wont hold I can just put new fabric down.

Talking well almost there...

got the plastic 95% done... I had to throw it on and see what it looked like. As some of you might notice there are wires hanging down from my back lights, I didn't have much time to put everything on before sun went down. A few more touch-ups and a power wash on the non plastic parts and it will look like a new bike 100%.

I received my Big Bore 351 today from bill blue so that is going on this weekend. Anyone have any tips on installing that? I found a few posts on here with smaller bore kits but nothing in the form of a guide for the big bore 351. I dont have a user manual on the bike, was thinking about buying a pdf for it. Its a 2006 KLX 250..soon to be 351 =)

just after second coat..

I am curious on how much more your bike weighs now with the new coatings.

I like the look of a clean, monochrome, no-label machine. I think it's way more attractive than the NASCAR thing.....
Nice job.
