Default 750 Intake Grate

I have a 1998 Kawasaki 750 that recently started taking on water. We bought it used, and it appears that someone has monkeyed with the intake grate. It lookes like the two forward bolts are broken, and that is where the water is getting in. We tried to remove the grate completely to see if we could repare the damaged bolts, but ran into more trouble. When we tried to remove the center bolt it snapped off, and the two remaining bolts feel like they will also snap if we try to remove them. The question is "Now What?"

Wow never heard of that happening. Hmmm. Start soaking them down with some penetrating lube and try drilling them. Get some easy-out drill bits or reverse drill bits next. Make sure you get a sharp punch and center punch them so you dont drill off-center. Usually the intake grate isnt sealed to the ski. Your water is probably coming in sumwhere else like where the pump hose go into the hull or maybe where the drive shaft goes into the hull.
