You shouldn't need to remove the speedo cable to remove the wheel.
Leave the cable connected to the speedo gear.

It's in the user manual too. It's a pretty simple procedure. Simple enough to do it yourself on the side of the road with the supplied toolkit.

I have to say if it is that serious an issue to remove the front wheel you might have someone else do it.

Simple to do:
  • Loosen axle pinch clamp nuts
  • Loosen and remove axle
  • remove speedo drive and move it out of the way.
  • spacer will drop out on brake side
  • roll wheel out.
  • do whatever you need to do
  • wedge brake pads apart with a large screwdriver or other tool to get clearance for the rotor to fit back in easily.
  • roll wheel into position, put spacer in place maybe with some grease to kind of stick it in there
  • fit speedo drive
  • line everything up and slide axle in
  • torque axle
  • pump front brake up again
  • bounce the front end a few times to get everything settled in place
  • tighten the clamp cap nuts - I think the top ones are tightened fully clamping at the top, then the bottom are torqued.

I think I got everything there.
