Help needed got a zzr year ago 1993 model 2nd gear gone so swapped engine for a 1999 model coulnt use the ram air box so left original left it parked up over winter (stupid boy) no start drain carbs and tank put fresh fuel checked plug no spark hmmmm checked fuses ??? starter turning fine any tips help be grateful cheers

 

hmm, not sure, but you have bit off some.

 

have you had the new engine running in your bike yet ? i have a '93' zzr and it got the ignition lock damaged, replaced it with a second hand one, and it would turn over but no real spark and wouldnt start, turns out the original lock had a anti theft built into it and the new lock didnt, so there was no communication with the ecu hence it wouldnt start !

 

i dont know if you mentioned this but it could be the battery, my bike wouldnt get spark even with a 80% charge on the battery. especially if you have had the bike in storage for awhile

 

when you swapped in the 99 motor did you also swap in the ignition switch?
