Hey i use Repsol 10w40. I like to change mine every 6-800 miles. If i ride hard i change it early. If i rack up the miles on long highway trips i do it around 800. You can never change it to much. I also change my oil filter every time i change my oil. I use stock kaw filter or the K&N oil filter.(which ever they have in stock)

I'm all for less noise when changing gears, I used Mobil 1 synthetic in my quad but don't know if thats recommended for this motor, tranny and clutch.Any thoughts on synthetic. Also where is the oil filter located and it sounds like you guys change it out yourselves. The manual mentioned having my dealer do it, probably just to keep the money flowing at my shop.

Oil filter is in front of the headers, just remove the plastics, the fairings, so you can see every thing. One of the easiest things you can do.

Go to auto parts store and get a low profile oil pan that will fit under your bike. Mine has a pan and storage container in one.

If you are short any tools just buy them and think of it as I would have gave that money to the dealer but now I have some new tools and next time I am set to do my own maintenance.

Ride safe and F the stealerships.
