Default New to owning a zzr 600

I am planning on purchasing an 06 zzr 600 as my second bike that i've ever owned. My first was a 85 hurricane 600 and i'm wondering even though the zzr is not injected will i be happy with the 06 zzr. I mena will there be a noticeable difference in speed and handling then my older bike. Im trying to cover all my bases and make sure that this purchase will be wise 6 years down the road.
thanks for the advice if ya have any

I'm sure there will be some differences in the way the new bike acts. But why don't you try the new zx6r instead. It's fuel injected and they are fast if that's what your looking for. I love my 06 636. Looks good and runs fast.

Well, I think anytime you've got 15 years difference, you'll most definately be able to tell. Go find some bigger bike shops and see if they have any used 00-02 ZX6R's and take those for a test ride. It's the same bike... only new! I personally think they're more comfy than the new ZX6R's, and I know it has more ooompfh than I'll ever use anytime soon.

I bought a 06 zzr600 in November. What a birthday present. I ride a lot with people who have the fuel injected bikes. I have no problem keeping up with them in any style of riding. We ride at all sppeds. The only time I see a difference is when it is cold outside. You just need to let the bike run for a while. I usually wait untill the temp gauge starts to give a reading to take off, That is at 100 degrees. I love my bike even more when we all talk insurance prices. I have raised some of my coverages and I still have the lowest insurance prices.

The throttle response on my ZZR is great, although not as fast as the response on my 636 which is fuel injected. I don't feel you'd be at a disadvantage by buying a carburated bike. I'm actually more comfortable working on it than an injected bike as you don't have to troubleshoot as many electronics if something goes wrong.
