Default I passed!

Hi all, just thought you'd like the update that I passed the MSF and am now qualified to ride around in a parking lot! Woo hoo! Look out world (and parking lots).

I'm getting my ZZR sometime this week, with my fingers crossed. They are hard to find.

WOOHOO!!! Congrats! I see they said the same thing to you... "Congratulations, you are now qualified to ride around an empty parking lot, dodging cones at 25-30 mph..." hehe

Definately post pics when you get them!

lol I know it was fast[sm=smiley9.gif]

I just dive right in there when I want something. Besides, I found one dealership out of ten that I called who had one. They were nice to me, didn't give me the runaround, and actually HAD what I was looking for instead of saying they could get it.

New questions:

What cans go on our bike? I HATE the factory can--no offense to others who might love it. Also, any thoughts on whether or not to replace the exhaust system for something better? (Should I buy a bolt on or a whole system?)

The only other mod on the horizon is steel braided breaklines. Know where I can get 'em in purple?

Sounds like a good buying experience... Unfortunately it was raining hard when I decided to go buy my bike after my MSF course... so I decided to wait, but it was great when I finally got her. Don't forget to gear up...

Yeah, the can is... well... fugly. It's functional, so I've just let it be for now, but I may be convinced to change it at some point. There are so many cans out there, and so many opinions, it's insane. Any can made to fit the US 00-02 ZX6R should fit just fine, as it's really the same engine/frame/bike (ZX600-J). It really comes down to your choice. Find one that you like the look of, then see if you can find anyone that's posted a video of how it sounds on our bike.

As for can vs. full exhaust... If all you want to do is change the look & sound, just get the can, save your money. If you want to start squeezing every last hp out of your engine, then go for the full exhaust. You'll have to pick up an appropriate jet-kit along with it, and it can all start to get pretty expensive while not giving you the biggest payoff in terms of performance gain.

As for purple brake lines, HEL makes some with purple covers and purple steel fittings. Here's one place you can get them: http://www.extremebikescustoms.com/HEL-BRAKE-LINES.htm but I haven't looked around at all, so you may want to shop around. Google is your friend .

And don't forget to post up some pics! [sm=Flahssssss.gif]
