Is it possible to swap the front fairing from a ZZR600 with the 99 zx-6r to get the dual headlights? How much work would that entail with the electrical shiznit and all? Just really curious. May be a future project.

 

hmmm...wouldn't think it is too much, just the new plastic and swap everything over. I imagine the old switches and everything will work fine. Does the 99 have the parking light?

 

Not sure I understand the question... the ZZR600 already has dual headlights.

 

Yeah but he has what is essentially the same bike, but it has the old headlight setup. So if he changes the plastic and the lights/mounting, and plugs the new wires into the old, I think it would probably work, but I would find a wiring diagram first.

 

Ya, I'll look at a wiring diagram when I see it as an option financially. But, I think it'd be a fun mod to do... And I'd get the dual headlights!

 

The lights on mine are amazing. A big plus for this bike.

 

Okay, I'm officially a Dumbass! I get it now. He has a 99 ZX6R... gotcha!

 

it'll swap minor wiring to replace the one plug with 2 plugs for the headlight.

 

You'll need:
upper fairing
windshield
Headlight w/ wiring harness
Gauge Bracket/Fairingstay From 2000-2002 zx6 or 9R or 05-08 ZZR
Your guages will fit the newer bracket but you will have to do a minor mod to it.
I'm trying to think if there is anything else.
Oh yeah. Both left and right side Ram Air ducts.
the 99 tubes will work to plumb into the frame though
ummmm i think thats it.
I'm in the middle of that exact swap now.
