1100 km 4 day Easter weekend
25/3/16
I did a trip to my old home town for a weekend away and to catch up with friends.
Leaving Friday morning 07:30
Stopped in Grafton for a quick splash and dash. Still getting used to the bike so wanted to make sure I had enough fuel to make the 160 km to Glen Innes. Heading up the fun and beautiful Gibraltar Ranges stopped at Raspberry Lookout.
Pulled up just before Glen Innes for a photo at Beardy Waters
Stopped at Inverell for fuel and a great lunch at the Oxford Hotel. After a nice break headed off to Narrabri arriving at 14:30 I called a friend and dropped around for a while until he had to go to work then settled in to watch the footy.
26/3/16
After breakie at the B & B and a walk I showered and went to a friends place we were going to Mount Kaputar in the Nandewar Ranges
Mount Ningadhun
Sue and me on top of Kaputar, on a clear day you can see almost half of the state of NSW
A kangaroo and joey
Back to Sue's place for a BBQ with her son and Mother in Law.
28/3/16
Sue and I travelled to near Boggabri to Dripping Rock unfortunately due to the drought not much dripping going on but a nice day out anyway.
We hiked to the top of the rock to be greeted by a nice breeze, while sitting in the shade we spotted 3 white wild goats heading towards us. They stopped for a drink from a small puddle while we took photos before they wandered off.
We headed back to the car pausing to let a goanna move away from our track, they can be quite aggressive and cause nasty wounds that can easily become infected.
Panorama at Dripping Rock
Stopped off for lunch on the way back and toured places I hadn't been since I left Narrabri in 1990 and out for dinner at the local Chinese for a lovely buffet.
28/3/16
Leaving Narrabri heading home.
Bingara, Barraba for fuel
Manilla then stopped at Bendemeer to check out accommodation for an upcoming weekend, Armidale for fuel got wet at Ebor (of course) dry again at Bellingen where I pulled over for a break and a cold drink even though only 20 minutes from home. Home again by 15:00.
I had a lovely weekend thanks to friends and the Hulk which didn't miss a beat.
