Default throttle cable

I am trying to take off some freeplay in my throttle and I can't make sense of these instructions.

The owners manual says:

"Loosen both locknuts along the throttle cables, and turn both adjusters in completely so as to give the throttle grip plenty of play."

Ok, that makes sense.

"Turn out the decelerator cable adjuster until there is no play when the throttle grip is completely closed. Tighten the locknut against the adjuster."

What does that mean?? I can't figure how much I should turn out the decelerator cable?
