Sorry - couldn't see the vid, but I did check out the 'Mayor of Truckville' pages!

Awesome site! You and Amanda have a pretty sweet looking collection! Love the Shelby (my dad had a Shelby Charger years ago - burgandy and silver - I loved that car!)

why cant you all see it? it is in quick time...is that the problem?

also, the shelby is a long, painful process...

it has a top end noise, but that can be fixed..my problem is that the year that i have uses an oddly shaped turbo flange, so i cant just go out and buy a new turbo, and the turbo is bad...a friend of mine rebuilds turbos to sell on ebay, but the guy before us wore the turbo out badly enough to ruin the center shaft, and now it needs that too..so its been really dragging out..[:@]

Quick time.....that explains why I can't see it!

Sounds like you'll have your hands full with the shelby - I hope you are able to find a way around the turbo problem! Keep us posted on how you make out with it! It might be a long painful process - but it'll be well worth it in the end (I haven't seen one of those around here in years!)

Hey patrick, you can't just show us a cool car and not post some specs for it!!!! lol Is it a big block open header?? 550 - 600 horse? Are you running a powerglide? That's a good sounding car, man...

It takes maybe 2 minutes or so to load the vid on mine, 1.5 meg/sec. If you all let it load a little longer, it should pop up...

it is a small block chrysler out of a 1969 cuda..

340 cubic inch, 30 over...below deck (not stock) pistons...so im running around 9 to 1...which is nice because i can run 87 octane!
i have an 800 proform race carb, eledbrock air gap intake, mopar 528/284 cam, flowtech headers, ported and polished 360 heads with 188/167 valves, fully stock rods and crank. msd 6a ignition, built mopar 727 trans, manual valve body, 4000 stall (new)...8.75 mopar rear diff with richmond 4.56 gears running through a spool (all new).

with the 3000 stall and 4.10 gears with regular posi rearend the car ran 12.60s...it also had more weight then...about 200lbs has been removed..also, shortly after running in the 12.60s, the top end of the motor broke...a few pushrods, some valve springs, but nothing dropped..so it has a new chain, new springs, new pushrods, and we had been having a problem with the numbers 1 and 3 cylinders running lean, which has been fixed...also when putting it back together my dad (who has the car until i have somewhere to put it, and at 68 years old, hes having alot of fun with it, and getting in trouble!) noticed that the distributor gear on the cam was bad, and that the car wasnt running in proper timing..so that is also fixed..the car sounds MUCH more crisp...the engine was refreshed last year when i ran it at norwalk, with the 3000 stall and 4.10 gears, and when i staged, i brought the rpms up and the tranny came apart at the seams.. hence the freshly rebuilt trans, and the 4.56 gears were a deal, so in they went!

so it will be interesting to see what it does with the new stuff, the properly tuned engine, and the weight reduction!

i have never been to a dyno, but similar weight cars, running similar mph have dyno'ed about 360 at the wheels...a computer dyno told me this: 358.70 HP at the wheels, and 466.31 HP at the flywheel...but you cannot prove how correct that is, but judging by other people having their cars dyno'ed its close...

wow... you've got some work in her.. from 4.10 to 4.56, that's a huge jump from the start line. Lose some top end, but with that torqueflight, you should gain 3/4 sec or so on the quarter..??.. that'll be interesting to see what kind of improvement you'll gain with the extra work. Looks like the stall matches the cam pretty good.. That's just awesome.. what kind of light are getting? Are you running a line lock or tranny brake? Love the car!!

Boy, I was wrong on the big block!!! I am going to blame that on my computer speakers!! lol lol It sounds like you and your dad are pretty good on the mechanics. That's cool you guys can work together like that......
