Have you ever had lightning strike near you? A few years ago I was near a strike about50-75 yards away from me (not on a bike.) I heard that SNAPimmediately preceding the lightning bolt, and it scared the livin' crap out of me. Saw the smoke coming up from the grass, afterwards. I enjoy a good storm, butthat givesyou a whole new outlook on getting zapped. There's no sound like that "snap."

 

That would have scared the chit out of me too!
