i have a 1996 zx6r ninja in good working condition for sale. i bought it 2 years ago at an insurance sale, it had cosmetic plastic damage and a bad fuel pump, i repaired both problems and swapped tags off my road king sometimes and rode it on the street. i never got the title in my name so this bike is being sold as a track bike. it has no frame damage and the tires are in good shape. i polished the rim lips, 520 chain conversion -1 up front +2 rear. full vance and hines ssr2 exhaust $$$, timing advancer, lowering links set in mid position as i weigh 240 with gear. fresh plugs and fluids. i bought this bike to take to the local drag strip and have some fun, which i did on a couple of occasions. my best time was 1/8 mile 7.37 @ 98 mph. avg time about 7.65 at 94. usually 1/8 mile times translate to 65% of 1/4 mile times so this bike with me on it will run 11.70 1/4 mile. i made a few passes and the clutch started slipping a little so i replaced it with a complete barnett friction plates and steel plates and springs. then the clutch was so tight i could not react to the tree without spinning wildly or lugging the motor, so i changed back to stock clutch springs, which worked wonderfully for a hole shot 1.80 60 ft time (not bad for a fat azz on a dinosaur 600) it was so fun, i didnt shut the bike off and made 3 more passes, BIG FUFU, clutch basket got too hot and blew up ruining my friction plates and my underwear as i was running 90 mph. i bought a used stock basket off ebay and stuck it in the bike, and it works fine although i would not recommend drag racing with the current set up. however the bike would make a great track bike. the only thing wrong is the plastic upper fairing was repaired by me, and the finish does not look great, and the starter relay needs a tap when you first start the bike, then it starts fine the rest of the day. i think this is common on these bikes. 1200 cash takes it. email me for pics. this bike is complete, signals brake lights everything works, but i am not paying a 300 dollar penalty at the license to steal office, so this is being sold as a track bike. you may be able to file for a lost title, and go thru the highway patrol inspection process to get this bike back on the road, but missouri law on this matter is all that i am familiar with.
