#6 is ok, I just dont want to go anywhere that Baltar bastard has gone. Boomer/Athena would be my pick. BTW Athena was Apollo's sister in the original, but its not the worst of the changes, I actually dont mind it too much. And I'm kinda glad they cut Boxie out at the last minute.

I have no idea what any of you are talking about either, I have always liked Stargate myself.

 

I thought it was cool that the terrorist Zerek was the actor that played Apollo from the original series. Not only is he good in that role, but bringing in one of the actors from the original series was pretty neat.



But as far as the comparison to the original series, I think it pretty much stops at the overall vague storyline. The SF version is much more hard-core, dark, and serious than the original series without all the cutsey stuff like the up-beat robot dog and kids. Adama is not the father-like figure of Lorne Green, but is reserved, hard, and battle scarred, and his alcoholic XO with the slutty wife, and so on. And the captain of the Pegasus, Admiral Cain, and some of the orders she gave - wow! You just don't see that stuff on the big three networks. Though the Razor episode gave you more of an appreciation of what led them to those decisions.

Great stuff - I hope they keep it going. I'm looking forward to new episodes.

 

FOR ANYONE THINKING TO WATCH THE SHOW NOW THAT YOU READ THE THREAD (and heard about *****)...

DO NOT start watching it in the middle. Nothing will make any sense. Find, borrow, rent, buy, or download the first part... which is a 3.5 hour miniseries all merged into one episode. This was the pilot (total of 4, 1 hour eps, less commercials).

Start it from there... or nothing makes sense. If you like it - then get the rest.

+1 on what Brian and srobak just posted. Battlestar is great but Showtime's Californication is fantastic!

 

Actually, don't buy the miniseries, because if you buy season 1, the miniseries comes as part of the package.
