Default who knows a thing or two about stereo equipment?

k, so ive recently bought a 2000w 4 channel amp, two 12in 1200w competition subs and four 6-1/2in 450w speakers... i need a head that will make all that (very expensive) stuff work worth half a crap. this was all i could really find on craigslist that wasnt from wal mart, opinions/suggestions?

have you considered a DVD head unit??? do you want a head unit that will automatically detect your iPhone/iPod??? Depends on how much you are looking to spend...pretty much if you spend over a 150$$$ on a head unit it will do the job...

When you look at the specs of the head units lets say here:

5x7 50W speakers x4
12" 500W sub x2
1400W Amp
50w x 4 head unit

.................................................. .............

50wx4 head unit = up to 50w per each of your 4 speakers in your car. You will not get 50w output from your speakers. If you want that you will need to put at least a 200w amp to increase output from it. Not necessary and will still sound good w/o it.

YOU NEED A BIGGER BATTERY! You will wake up one morning to a car that wont start. The culprit? The battery.

Need at least a wire that hasd comparable output as your amp. Why? Because the output is only going to be as much as the backbone is providing to source. I would recommend at least an 8 gauge but it all depends on ur gig.

Subs, 500w x2 = 1000. Need at least 1000W amp to power the subs.

ahhhhhh ok. this all makes sense now. so my 2000w amp should support my 4 speakers and both my subs, right? or do i need a seperate one fo the speakers

specs for the head im prob gonna buy:
speaker output 50W x 4.
sub out put 500w x 2.

amp: 2000w, bridgeable 2 channel.
