Default Where has deej been?

That stinking deej, where is he? I knew this would happen, he buys a road bike, which is ok, but then we find out its a Honda.....oh sure Honda is the best bike ever made, but has he forgotten his roots in the motorcycle forum world? What a tool.....LOL?

Ok so I've been busy with work, and yes working on the new ride. Amazon.com has become my second home, and closely following that is http://www.st-owners.com/ That site, just like this site is full of great people and wonderful information about the Honda ST, I even found a guy on that site that builds racks for the ST and powder coats them FOR FREE!!!!!! All I have to do is send him the aluminum plate and he cuts the slots and drills the holes to match up perfectly to the ST tail rack. Did I mention that he powder coats..... FOR FREE!!! Here is a picture of what the rack looks like. I'm going to get flat black.

This is what it will look like with the Nelson Rigg bag I bought

So anyway, I have been buying some stuff. I picked up a new Garmin 60CSx and a ram mount for the left side
IMG00329-20110304-1658.jpg?t=1299686140

I also ordered a garmin Nuvi 265wt cradle and ram mount for the right side. Both do different things. This is in anticipation for an epic two cousins trip we are planing for next year or the year after. The plan is to ride from where I live to the southern tip of Florida. Epic?...yeah this trip will make epic look like a Prostate exam.........not that I would know anything about that, I'm not 50 yet...back off!

So what else did I buy for the bike. Oh yeah, one of the side covers that has the battery behind it was cracked and poorly fixed by the previous owner. I searched high and low across ebay and other places, and about to give up, I discovered a site that you can order OEM parts painted in the bike's original color. http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/ Wow was I excited to get the replacement part already painted, for half the price of a used one that would have had to be painted.

I also ordered the Scala Rider communication system, they work great! http://www.cardosystems.com/scala-ri...er-q2-multiset You can talk to the wife on the back of the bike, and another rider up to like 2300 ft away. All bluetooth connected. So you can answer a call on your phone, and it automatically goes back to the FM station or MP3 player. Tried it out the other day. I was tooling along at 60, and voice dialed my cousin, he didn't even know I was on a bluetooth connection let alone on a bike doing 60! He said there was zero noise coming from my end. That will really add to the two cousin riding experience.

Since our epic trip will involve camping, I also picked up a good sleeping pad and bag, the Nelson rig bag, a bike cover and a few other items. I'm really enjoying this bike. One of the best features is the electric windshield. With the bush of a button going from 30 to say 60, the wind simply put...disappears right over the top of you.

Here is a picture of me and the wife heading out for a 25 mile test run, first time with her on the back. Surprisingly the bike cornered better with her on it. She loved it! So with that rack on the back to hold the bag, and the two side bags, we could easily do a week long trip.

So in conclusion, sorry that I've not been on here as much, but hopefully things will settle back down and I can find a balance in all of this. Who knew that a modern road bike would be so much fun? Oh yeah most of you already knew that.

Ok so back to loading maps on the new GPS...LOL

well I guess I worded it wrong. Let me re-state. I send him a blank flat piece of aluminum, and he machines it, cuts all the slots, drills the holes to match the ST1300 tail, and powder coats...all for free!!!!

I WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice looking gadgets, but pay attention to the road deej. It gets more wicked on the streets than on the dirt, so man up and be prepared. Stop putting more stuff in your field of vision to distract you from what is actually happening out there on the road. Enjoy the freedom bro.
