Since I can't seem to post a poll in any of the sections I thought this should go in...

I feel like I'm getting to the point where I'd like to start stretching my limits on the bike, and have gone for a few "spirited" rides with a couple of other groups. Some groups faster than others.. but I have to be honest.. The street is a damned scurry place to do it. Guardrails, trees, police, gravel, mud, oil, squids, cars, etc (no particular order) have all caused me to check my shorts once or twice. I'm thinking about going to a track day as I know it'd be safer, but it would be more expensive up front, and I wouldn't get to "ride" as much. I'm also afraid that once I do get on the track, all street riding will become extremely boring.

So what do you guys think? be honest...

 

Choice #2 is for me.I wan't to try a track day just havent yet.

 

i use to be all about # 3, sometimes i got the # 2 scared out of me though so now that im older i mainly try to stick to # 5.

 

same with me i havent had a track day yet but there is this nice straight strech of road over here thats about the only place i nail it once in a while at

 

I'm pretty much the same. There's some great riding out here. The further out we go the harder we run, but I want to hit a track day - in fact, I just ordered some gaunlet style gloves to go with the leathers I'll pick up over the long holiday. After that, I'll be ready to hit a beginner track day....where I'll wear my new leathers and some Depends.

 

So do you think the roads are less fun now that you've done track days? Or just different? I mean.. I think I'll always enjoy a nice mountain road for the scenery... but I'm afraid if I do too many track days, the road will get boring unless I'm doing 2-3 times the speed limit...

i like to ride fast in my driveway and gotrice like to wheelie in his garage.

 

I'll have to say #2 as well. But like everybody else i would love to go to a track!

 

do you guys know what # 2 really means ?

if you go into a left hand turn lane and drag knee and come out of it into a power wheelie and basically ride track style on the street, then you are railing it.
