When a bike 'wears out"
Hey guys i was talking with my buddy and he said that an air cooled motorcycle engine is "worn out" by 45-55 thousand miles... i didnt agree with that... and he said to get 20K on say my klx250 is said thats way worn out... How do you guys feel? When is a bike "worn out".... He has a early 80's honda shadow that has like 40k on it and he said its almost done for.... what do ya think?

That sounds Like a weekend rider talkin' to me- they ride, maybe, 200-300 miles a year so to them 45k seems like an eternity
and ya- a bike goes 45k 300 miles a year it might be worn out[](about 150 years old)
I have seen some low mileage bikes that are junk just because of thepeople who had them. Many people have bikes but don't actually ride them.
