went hiking today
well the sun has been out for a few days and its going to start raining by the end of the week so I figured I would take this break in the weather to go for a hike. It was a 7 mile hike along a stream in muir woods. Muir woods is a huge red wood forest. Well here are some of the pictures I took.

Who would have thought. A huge red wood forest would only be 30 or so miles out side of San Francisco. I've been going to muir woods for a while to hike and love it there.

I put up a really short clip on you tube. Most of the hike followed the stream and you could hear the water rushing by the whole time, it was really relaxing.

Nice shots, I'll take a look at the video too. That's a wonderful place to go for a hike. Post some pics of Stinson Beach the next time you make it there if you don't mind. A lot of other good places tohike around there too, like the Marin Headlands, Angel Island, etc. Where do you live ?
I lived in the Bay Area for ten years(August 1988 through late1998)including some time just north of Muir Woods in Fairfax away from all the hassle and break-ins that go on around here. I can assure you Fairfax sure beat Oakland, S.F. andAlameda. At leastin FairfaxI didn't have criminals walking in my house andbedroom every timeI went out for a walkor to the store! Just the Mexicans cutting up the path through the woodsup the hill below where I lived on their way to work and they didn't cause me any problems.
Lifein much of the rest of the States these dayis like living in a glorified prison camp where strangers walk in your bedroom and go throughyourbelongings whenever they feel like it. A major reason why I finally left California; got tiredofcriminals breaking my doordown and coming in and going through my belongings and the files of clients(I'm a lawyer).
I guess the Soviets have taken over the rest of the country(that's why Ilike the Russians so much, they put up with those Soviet pigs controlling their livesfor sucha long time)-- hope Fairfax and the rest of Marin County isstill a free country. Let me know if it is or not.
Nice part of the world to be. Thanks again for the pictures and the good memories they brought back.
