Who has time for pics? Christ - I rode until damn near midnight last night... freezing my *** off, but I didn't care. Rode in to work this morning, and it is going to be in high 60s low 70s this weekend (I hope...)... so I will be doing a lot of riding, but - I will try to get pix. Nothing looks different from above however... the zx9 is a pic I took of this bike, and the coat and helmet are on the trunk of my car. I will try to get a shot with everything on this weekend.

It sure is a big sum bitch though... I like it Sits a little high on the bars, but it is ok. Was with my friend with the gixxer 600 last night and the bars are almost 2 inches higher than his... but it is a good ride. The front feels oddly light or loose... so I am gonna put a damper on it this winter I think. The rear grab bars also don't work too well for securing a laptop bag with a cargo net, so I think I might bolt some actual hooks on the rear subframe this winter too, unless someone has come up with another answer? I used the rear reflector bracket and rearset temporarily, but the reflector brackets is not so sturdy. Ideas?

I didn't lay into it last night... was pretty cold and was driving on an 5 lane expressway from where it was to home last night... but even in higher gears at mid-level RPMs... that thing has got GOBS of power... Fun bike so far... will do some actual riding with it this weekend and report back. All in all - I am happy with the bang for the buck.

Congrats on the 9.

About the seven though, the bike was up there in age and the cost of replacing the clutch plates could have been negotiated with the seller. I do hate it though when people do not reveal actual condition, and that was an easy one to discover.

Have fun with the 9 and lets see some pics.

from 5pm Friday night until 1030pm sunday night... approximately 550 miles. I think I am permanently hunched over. It is a good kinda pain though. Took some beautiful rides... even got the wife on to go around downtown chicago just a few hours ago... she is still scared ****less, but she did enjoy it. Too bad this is likely the last riding day of the year though

No pix of me with the bike, but I did get some of the bike.... I will post them tomorrow. Gotta have something to do from work.

Did some minor adjustments this morning after a full day of riding yesterday... tipped the levers down another half to 3/4ths inch so I can cover them easily and not rack my wrists back in the process. Put a wire-tie through hole in the upper tree that goes around the ignition switch to hold the clutch cable up a little. It was drooping too far down in front of the knuckle and was getting majorly stretched when the bars are turned all the way to the left.

Here are the things I want to do over the winter... change all fluids, reflective green rimstripes, change out mirrors (if someone can give me mounting dimensions for the mirrors on a zx7), a better hook solution on the rear subframe for use of a cargo net, and I am considering changing the turn signals to also have running lights in them - I do prefer that look.

I think I also want to get the beast dyno'ed... I know it is 143hp stock... but with the full muzzy and pro jet stage 1 in it... I am really curious if it is over 150 or so. the only reason I am wanting to do this is because I experience something last night I have never experienced in all my years of riding, and all the bikes I have ridden - including a zx-11. Last night I left my nephew's house, leaned forward on the bike after rolling out of his driveway, and REALLY got on it... first time I got the bike over 7500 or 8000 since I got it... I then shifted to second and kept the hammer on... right about the 8k mark in both gears, it REALLY started pulling hard... I mean - just MASSIVELY hard. So hard my stomach turned inside out twice...

you know... that feeling you get when you are riding a roller coaster? Yeah... that. A little spooky, but it felt wonderful. As I said before - that thing has gobs of power... and a lot of it in the low end. So much torque... absolutely delightful. I swapped rides with one friend who has an 05 R6, and another with the Gixxer 600, and both of them felt so NARROW - like a bicycle... and while tehy were quick, it was more "zippy" - if that makes any sense... where as the 9 is just this massive beast that LUNGES forward when you crank it.

I know I am rambling, but I just cannot say enough that I am VERY happy with my purchase. My only complaint besides the mirrors is that the neutral notch is a little soft, and even when trying - it is a little too easy to go right through it.

Ok... I will stop rambling... but I have been sportin wood for 3 straight days... and no Viagra.

Why does riding season have to be over NOW?

Thanks dude... I am enjoying it. Got a message just now from the guy in detroit with the 7. He said the shop took the bike and they indicated the hydraulic lines on the clutch were frozen up and had to be replaced. Not sure what they were froze up with... but ok. Apparently it is in good shape now... but.... too late.
