Default Trooper tells caller seeking help for motorcycle accident, 'Too bad

Man this story pissed me off.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7267447/?GT1=6305

"LISBON, Conn. - A state trooper was suspended for 15 days without pay after he was recorded on a 911 tape saying “too bad” to a caller seeking help for a man injured in a motorcycle accident.State police said the dismissive answer by Trooper Robert Peasley did not affect the response time to the accident involving Justin Sawyer, 21, who died of a severe head injury a week after the crash last August. Peasley was suspended on Monday.Russell Shepard, a friend of Sawyer’s, called 911, which was routed to the state police barracks in Montville. When he reported the accident, Peasley said, “Yeah ... too bad,” and hung up, according to a tape obtained by WTNH-TV.
Wrong number?
Shepard said he was shocked, believing he reached a wrong number.Another friend made a second call. “Yeah,” the officer responded. “Help will get there. Shouldn’t be playing games.”A third emergency call was answered by a different dispatcher, who asked about Sawyer’s condition and advised those nearby to not touch him.“I am absolutely outraged every time I hear that ‘too bad’ and then click,” said Sawyer’s father, Jim Sawyer. “I only know that I would have felt a whole lot more comfortable if I had heard people responding on the end of that 911 call with some heart and caring.”State police said the comments by Peasley, an 18-year-veteran, were unprofessional, and the agency apologized if “our actions added to the family’s pain.”"

Now we know how they really feel, however I would like to beleive that all cops would notshow that lack of concern.
They need to fire that cop!

I'm sure not all cops are like that. I went on a ride-along with a cop that rides an r1 not to long back and he was a pretty cool guy, for a being a cop. lol its sad that this had to happen. some ppl just dont understand the passion that we have about riding.

Most cops are really cool. It just that 1-2% that give the rest of them a bad rap. All the cops I've meet execpt one have been great people.

+1. I've only met a couple of officers that were azzholes. The rest of them that I know are fine upstanding citizens who are merely doing their civic duty (they sure as hell don't get into that career field for the money!)

okay.
1) if that was my kid, long story short... id kill that guy. cold blood, but not fast. buckshots to the knees and stomach til he bleeds out, then cut his left eye out without severing the optical nerve so he could watch his own last few breaths.

2)with cops ive "incounterd" its really on situation. as civillains theyre really cool people (most of the time) but you get one that has a grudge against bikers/streetracers/races(i.e. black, white, hispanic) and they turn to a total hardass. one lady i knew of was a cop up in lincoln, she decided to be the best on the force (small town, only female anything really[8D]) and she gave out a couple thousand tickets in her rookie year.. long story real short, town grew to hate her because she gave EVERYONE tickets for EVERYTHING. so, to put a stop to the hate... she blew her brains onto the rear-window of her crown-vic with her service 1?gauge. if youre even in lincoln nh, ask about her.. she was the talk of the town for months.

Wow....that crazy. I had a couple of friend that were cops and were cool as hell. But that article on msnbc is just absurd. Surely there's a huge lawsuit pending if anything.

"who died of a severe head injury a week after the crash"

that is the problem with the current snell standard and the reason the european ece standard is better. snell will keep you broke breaking your skull but it does not cusion nearly enough of the force to protect your brain. you die of brain trauma or live as a vegetable.
