so i had been fighting this 02"zx7" engine trying to get it into the frame of my 01 zx7 and ive been very unsuccessful. now that i look at it closertho, my "zx7" engine is in fact a zx9 engine. it doesnt seem to be very useful to me, so i was wondering if anyone had a zx7 engine they would like to trade, or if this engine is worth anything to anyone who uses this forum thanks for any response.

if i hadn't just completely dissassembled my other motor, i'd DEFINITELY trade ya..lol

damn..i'd like to do a 9 motor on 15 lbs and a 973 stoker kit, muzzy oil line mod and some other goodies..

(the 9 had oil issues with the 2/3 crank bearings..)

with the 9 motor, i think (not 100% sure) that you have to run different upper mounts, BUT i also want to say that only certain years will fit without a problem.

i'll share a secret with you tho.. the 9 motor is becoming increasingly rare, and you can sell that motor, and make enough money to get a good 7 motor and probably still have some cash left over for a good bit.

i DO have a motor available, but it needs a head gasket, and it is dissasembled. my boy just got locked up, and he has a complete 7-R, and another motor for it.. so, hit me up and i'll let ya know about it if you're interested..

the motor i got was in the same shape-needed head gasket.
i hate to admit this, but i will pull no punches with ya. theres a stud broke off in the head on the #1 exhaust port.. the lower bolt i believe.. at least what i can remember about it being that i was the one that did the 2 motor swaps this thing has had already.. i'm not 100% sure what allelse is wrong with it tho.. i don't want ya to think i'm sitting on a perfect motor.. BUT it IS a motor, and i can always give it a thorough inspection and let you know what i find with it if you'd like.. or if you wanna do that 9 swap, can probably point you to some links to tell ya how to do it..

 

I take it that looking at the engine code or the casting cc's of that engine was not thought about prior to trying to install it?
