Default Towing A Bike

What would be the best way to tow a bike? I dont know anyone with a truck so I was thinking of renting a u-haul to tow my bike to the dealership... Any suggestions? I dont want my bike tipping over while driving [:-]

You can rent the smallest UHaul they have and strap it down tight. That would work.

And would probably be cheaper than renting a pickup truck

Glad to hear you don't know anyone with a truck. The driver of the pick-up I saw on the way home has gotta' be dead, the driver's side of thetruckwas so crushed. Seriously.

You might be able to rent a pick-up truck at Home Depot. I think they rent them by the hour and if you just need to get the bike to a dealership that might not be a bad option. Don't know how much they charge though compared to U-Haul, etc.

Or take a look on the web for one of those cheap rent-a-car places like Rent-A-Wreck and see if they have a cheap pick-up truck. Probably cheaper than U-Haul.

Should I use chains to secure the bike? Or do you guys think rope would work just fine?

Tie a rope to the back of your car, grab onand ride.

Rope should work fine, you can either get a trailer or they rent the small vans for like $20 a dayI think

that is awesome i might have to spend some money on that....

also to the poster, use the ratchet type tie downs available at home depot or walmart, the bike has tons of places a hook can grab onto
also the the ratchet will help compress the fork which will help it from moving around when you drive.

the Home depot trucks are cool becuase they have ramps and all but you need to buy something there that justtifies u using that truck,
