Default And then this happened...

I was out on a 6 hour ride, putting my new shinkos to the test (great tire btw) and suddenly the bike got louder, and the noise moved closer to the front so I stopped figuring i blew an exhaust gasket and wouldnt you know it....

I was riding so fast I outran my pipe... the weird stuff always happens on this bike.

Its a clean break all the way around to the front so I figure whoever put the can on did a crappy weld on the backside which broke and worked its wayto the front where the good weld took some of the pipe with it. Guess a little vibration can go a long way.

Side note: My phone takes great pics!

wow, time for the OxyAcetylene to do its work. Put the remaining phone money back into the bike. The pic did turn out good by the way.

Pun intended, lol.

Well I had to take the entire exhaust off, wasnt expecting it, but kinda feared it. Shouldnt have been wearing my sunday clothes, lol.

With the radiator and oil cooler loose, getting the exhaust off was....still a pain but not as bad.

The weld still needs work, grinder was out of service, but will clean it up tomorrow and there was even talk of paint.... we will see how long that lasts.

Tore up the twisties, she is running great, and alot quieter too. Sportbikes with straight pipes are a bad idea...

Prom! You may need some more welding practice bro. A grinder would then not be necessary. But congrats on the progress.
