Default Some bad news and then some good...

So the plan of picking up the ZZR600 and riding ot Idaho and back got shot down. I gave the stealership a couple grand to hold one and it was supposed to be here waiting for me mid Aug for the big road trip. Well, the bike wouldn't have come in until next month some time for some reason. I wasn't to happy about that so I did what any self respecting person would do had they been in my position and bought a ZX10R instead. They gave me a screaming deal on an 06 10R. Obviously not a bike for road trips, at least not when ridden in the break-in period. Needless to say the big road trip is off but I'm super happy with the 10. It's literally a piloted missile and I haven't even been able to take it over 6000 rpm. So that's the news. I'll toss a couple of pics up for proof.

Thanks Bluebird. The bike really is awesome. It's so smooth and powerfull I really can't describe it. No doubt I can set it up for a little touring but it's not a priority at the moment. I have already made some additions and subtractions. I really have no intent on doing any performance mods on the 10R. Anything I do to it will be mainly cosmetic. I have already mounted the carbon mirrors and removed the rear fender. I have a solo seat cowl and double bubble screen on order. I'm also waiting for my escort x50 radar/laser detector and laser jammer set to come in. I'm about to install the super horn on the bike as well. I could have used that yesterday. That pretty much covers it. I really like how the stock exhaust looks and sounds. Likely I'll repaint the silver heat shields in high temp black a little later. Other then that I'm not replacing the exhaust in any way.

Some nice little mods! It'll look great when you paint the heat shields! Don't blame ya for not changing that exhaust - looks nice the way she is. The windscreen will look awesome too!! I'm so happy for you!!!!

dam nice bike man... When you twisted her wide open, did you freak out a bit when it slid you back in teh seat and it took a lot of strength to hold on to the bars?
