The pumps here have a shut off thing if the gas reaches the nozzel. So to top off the tank you have to pull it out a little then add a little more gas. Also if the little rubber cover for the nozzel is all the way down it shuts off so you have to pull back the ruber part. Glad there was no fire or anything started from te spilt gas.
I don't know if you were just being informative or what - but you do know that this had absolutely no bearing on my story and situation, right?

wow sro, I would have gotten all of the attendants involved on that one! That nozzle needs to be serviced or replaced if it is a hazard. If it happens once, good chance someone else will have that same issue.
Oh, I did... they marked it out of service and called it in for repair right then and there. Thinking about going back today and asking them to take care of my dry cleaning bill and buying me a bottle of febreeze.

I was just wondering if the pumps their are like the ones here in ca. Any luck in getting the gas smell out of what you were wearing?

Yeah - washed the clothes - it's gone.... have done about 500 miles on the bike int he last 2 days, so the smell is gone from the coat and glove too

Amazing what a little fresh air ripping into you at 70mph can do.

Wow that would be scary... Thats another reason to keep me filling up, off the bike... Glad you can out ok.
