I am really sorry to hear that chic636 and hoedogg. My thoughts and prayers go out to you
|
amen.. ya..
my condolences to both you and the families, hoe and chik.. damn.. thats a good reason i stopped stuntin an racing on the streets.. too many times i've either had close calls or thought (after riding at sub-200mph speeds for LONG distances) "chit.. what if..." it's just not worth it. i can't remember the last time i street raced. but thats a good thing i think.. |
That's a big bravo for that self assessment!
And an even bigger BRAVO for saying it in public!!! |
My condolences for the loss of your friend, though it makes me almost as angry as sad to hear when people are lost this way. There is one sure-fire way to prevent something like this from happening...use the most important piece of safety gear you have - your head.
It's a senseless tragedy because it could easily have been prevented by saving the racing for the track. |
thanks, MSGT-R.. about that time as well, i had known about 3 or 4 ppl that got killed goofing off on the streets. one was doing a wheelie when he hit the back of a flatbed.. him.. not the bike.. cut him in half basically..another good friend was blowing down some street and hit a jeep at like, 130 something that was backing out of a driveway.. a few other had gone down at supersonic speeds on the interstate.
i have a few cop buddies that told me horror stories from chases, and i good riding buddy was a mortician at the time, and also kinda told me some hings that made me settle down. i mean, we're in the danger zone whether on the street OR track. i live right down the road from summit point raceway, and a buddy is a track worker there. i hear al lthe time about racing deaths there.. it sucks. we just have to stick together and all be vigilant, responsible and safe. |
it sucks but that is the risk you take doing those things and being part of the sub-culture ya know? i've done my fair share of racing both street and strip and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. seen many deaths from the pits, accidents, injury's, cops (lol), etc and it's not pretty but it goes with the territory and we all KNOW that
|
..and some of us manage to live to be old and still have fun in the process.
No, I don't do any of that on the streets. |
I do mine on the streets but on streets with no traffic and curves on it.
|
The "no traffic" is the big one.
